Dear stakeholders who concern on Wafer Works, the sustainable development of Wafer Works is reflected in our business activities. The transparent non-financial information disclosures have demonstrated that we attach great importance to the fields such as corporate governance, environment, society, etc., and thereby earning recognition and trust from the stakeholders.

Wafer Works adheres to sustainable development as its highest principle. We have established a Sustainable Development Committee and are committed to moving toward our goal of "becoming a customer-centered provider of semiconductor materials." We strive to achieve sustainable development through six key pillars: corporate governance, employee care, environmental sustainability, customer service, supplier management, and social participation, continuing to bring positive impacts to society and promote industry sustainability.

Looking back at 2022, while economies around the world gradually recovered in the postpandemic era, the global market still faced significant uncertainty and risks due to the U.S.–China trade war and the Russo–Ukrainian War. The Wafer Works management team maintained a riskoriented mindset and implemented professional governance, consistently executing operational plans. The Company achieved a consolidated annual revenue of NT$12.68 billion, representing a growth of 22.6% compared to the previous year. The profit after-tax also grew by 94.8%.

Sound and transparent corporate governance is the foundation of a company's operations and a demonstration of its accountability to stakeholders. Wafer Works strives to enhance the effectiveness of corporate governance. Through the effective operation of the Board of Directors, functional committees, and the management team, the Company was ranked the top 6% to 20% of companies in Taiwan for corporate governance evaluation in 2022.

In terms of social care, Wafer Works and all of its employees make full use of our limited resources to exert the maximum effort in assisting disadvantaged groups and promoting social stability in the areas where the Company's operating bases are located. We continuously carry out activities such as caring for the disadvantaged, donating supplies, and participating in blood donations. We also encourage our business partners, employees, and their friends and family to join us in these initiatives, contributing their efforts in practical ways. In 2022, the total social participation investment amounted to NT$389,000.

Employees are the Company's most valuable asset, and it is our mission to create a safe, healthy, harmonious, and positive work environment. To promote sustainable talent development, we provide diversified training programs, including general, professional, and hierarchical courses, to enhance employees' workplace and team capabilities. We prioritize the physical and mental wellbeing of all employees, conducting regular health checks and promoting a healthy vegetarian diet among colleagues. We maintain the operation of ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management system and employ a risk management mindset. We implement various actions and health promotion programs to improve the work environment and strive toward a healthy workplace. To enhance smooth communication among employees, we hold quarterly labor– management meetings and provide communication channels through physical and online mailboxes. Any feedback received via these channels serves as a reference for improving the organizations and units within the Company, allowing colleagues to contribute their talents without worries. In 2022, the average training hours per employee were 15.5 hours, with male employees receiving an average of 16.7 hours of training and female employees receiving an average of 12.7 hours of training.

In response to the issue of global climate change, Wafer Works is committed to becoming a semiconductor materials supplier with a low environmental impact. We actively invest in innovative research and development (R&D), taking a holistic perspective to ensure that our activities from R&D, procurement, manufacturing, and after-sales service comply with international environmental regulations to meet the demand for green, environmentally friendly, and low-carbon products, thereby reducing our environmental impact. In 2022, we implemented the Task Force on Climaterelated Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and integrated climate risk and opportunity governance into our management team's practices to mitigate the impacts of climate change.

In terms of energy-saving measures in our operational activities, we have implemented an energy-saving plan. In 2022, we achieved a total energy savings of 2,518,585 kWh, resulting in a reduction of 1,281.96 metric tons of CO2e emissions.

Regarding waste reduction, we adhere to the principles of a circular economy. In the slicing process of single crystal ingots, we recycle cutting oil and cutting powder, which are the main auxiliary materials. Through a cutting oil recovery machine, we collect and reuse the cutting oil and cutting powder in the slicing machine process. For the portions that cannot be recycled, we collaborate with other industries to purify the sludge and transform it into industrial-grade materials such as silicon carbide products and cutting oil that can be used by other industries. In 2022, our waste recycling rate reached 86%.

For sustainable development outlook, Wafer Works will continue to develop Taiwan market and expand global business, implement CSR in pursuit of sustainable growth, and strive to become a good corporate citizen. Sustainability should be embedded into business objectives for enterprises with growing corporate influence. Wafer Works always upholds the above-mentioned belief in promotion of environmental protection and energy conservation and implementation of green manufacturing to drive progress through innovation. In recent years, in addition to promoting green factories, green manufacturing and green supply chains, we also continue to push forward water resources management and carbon management. The products of Wafer Works covered the fields such as power, analog, micro-electromechanical system (MEMS), etc., which are primarily used in green products that highlight low operational energy consumption and high power efficiency. In particular, we are the market leader of power semiconductors, which are the cornerstone of the green energy industry. Since we have been awarded with the Product Carbon Footprint certification in 2014, we have devoted more resources in the research and development (R&D) of green energy semiconductor chip technology and focus on the highefficiency power semiconductor chip required by electric vehicles. In addition, Wafer Works implements social care, supports the interaction between employees and the society, and discovers more specific focus on practicing love and giving back to the society by effectively integrating company resources with the spontaneous participation of employees in charity activities. In addition to continuing to provide resources and care for disadvantaged groups, Wafer Works consolidates people efforts and becomes influential in co-creating environmental and society values, achieving a better sustainable future by encouraging employees to participate in blood donations and various social welfare and community activities, etc.
