Wafer Works Corporation was established in 1997. The founding team was from Silicon Valley in U.S.A. andsemiconductor industry in Taiwan. All the team members were equipped well with rich experience in the semiconductor industry. Wafer Works has become one of the global top ten semiconductor wafer material suppliers.

2023

2017

  • FAB construction of Wafer Works (Zhengzhou) Corporation
  • Mass production and shipment of 8-inch lightly-doped Boron silicon wafers
  • Completed R&D of 6-inch and 8-inch SOI wafers and sample delivery

2016

  • Successfully developed the first 12-inch silicon crystal ingot with ultra-low resistance (highly – doped arsenic ) in China factory
  • Mass production and shipment of 6-inch and 8-inch double sided polish wafers
  • Successfully developed 8-inch silicon wafer with ultra-low defect density
  • Wafer Works (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. merged Wafer Works Epitaxial Corporation and Wafer Works (Yangzhou) Corporation
  • Wafer Works (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. signed strategic collaboration agreement with Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone to construct a silicon wafer factory, “Wafer Works (Zhengzhou) Corporation”.

2015

  • Wafer Works (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Legally obtained the managerial right of Wafer Works (Yangzhou) Corporation

2013

  • Longtan Plant was awarded “Safety and Health Model” by Industrial Development Bureau, MOEA

2012

  • Wafer Works passed PAS2050/ ISO14067 product carbon footprint certification

2011

  • Relocated Global Operation Headquarters to Longtan Plant in Taoyuan
  • Completed the second phased capacity expansion in Wafer Works Epitaxial Corporation

  • Completed 1.5 phased project of factory expansion in Yangmei Plant

2006

  • Successfully developed 8-inch highly-doped arsenic and phosphorous crystal ingot

2004

  • Wafer Works acquired 75% equity of reinvested company in China, Jin Hau Electronic Material Co. Ltd, and renamed it as Wafer Works (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.

2003

  • Wafer Works was approved with a reward of the research and development of new leading products by Industrial Development Bureau, MOEA of its “silicon wafer for microelectromechanical system and smart electricity components”

2002

  • Wafer Works was listed in Taipei Exchange.

2000

  • Recommended by Industrial Development Bureau, MOEA for listed company of technology stock
  • Successfully developed 6-inch highly-doped antimony crystal ingot

1999

  • Subsidiary, Helitek (USA), was awarded Year 1999 Environmental Protection Performance Award in Alameda County, California, U.S.A.
  • Wafer Works Yangmei Plant formally run for production
  • Wafer Works Global Operation Headquarters was relocated to Yangmei Township, Taoyuan County
