Writing Principles

This report is the 10th sustainability report of Wafer Works Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Wafer Works" or "the Company"). The content of this report follows the guidelines of the Global Sustainability Standards Board (GSSB) and has been prepared based on the GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards (GRI Standards). It also incorporates the "Materiality", "Inclusivity", "Responsiveness", and "Impact" AA1000 AccountAbility Principles (AA1000AP) for compilation. Considering climate change and investor disclosure requirements, this year's report includes Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) disclosures, aiming to cover significant issues of stakeholder concern and demonstrate the Company's sustainability efforts in business operations. This report was reviewed by the Sustainable Development Committee of Wafer Works and approved by the Chairman of the Board prior to publication. Scope and Source

The information and statistical data disclosed in this report reflect the sustainability performance of Wafer Works for the year 2022 (from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022), as well as the key topics in sustainable development of concern to stakeholders. The report covers three aspects: corporate governance, environment, and society. The economic aspects and financial performance mentioned in this report refer to the consolidated financial performance. The financial data is reported in New Taiwan Dollars (NTD), and the preparation of the consolidated financial statements is detailed in Appendix 5. The disclosure of environmental performance indicators and social performance indicators encompasses the scope of Wafer Works Corporation, which produces silicon wafers and silicon ingots in Taiwan, as well as its subsidiaries in Taiwan.

 

Material Operational Changes

There are no material changes in the scope and topics of this report, including the scale, structure, ownership, and supply chain. If there are changes to some of the data from previous years, explanatory notes will be provided at the relevant location to indicate the changes.

 

Report Audit and Verification

Wafer Works upholds corporate sustainable development concept and has been publishing the "Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report" since 2012. The previous "CSR Report" was published in June 2021, which has systematically demonstrated the aspects of corporate governance, environment, society, etc.

 

This report will be published in June 2023. By request of the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC), the "CSR Report" will be renamed "ESG Report". Wafer Works will regularly publish the "ESG Report" every year implementing the promotion of sustainable development. The next report is expected to be published in June 2024.
