Vertical Direction With years of research and development, Wafer Works relies on its core technology for product innovation. Wafer Works has successfully developed the technology to produce high quality, heavily doped 200 mm substrates, and have incorporated epitaxial services to our vertically integrated manufacturing process. These additions allow us to provide the market with more valuable business solutions with an in-depth product offering through an efficient and convenient purchasing procedure.
Horizontal Direction Breaking into new markets is always exciting for us here at Wafer Works. In one of our recent horizontal expansions, we have begun developing sapphire substrates, a long-term project divided into two phases. We have already successfully completed Phase I by developing the technology to mass produce sapphire substrates, including high quality patterned sapphire substrates. We are currently undergoing phase II which involves the research and development of sapphire crystal growth technology.
Another one of Wafer Works' recent horizontal expansions has been in solar cell materials research. We have been working on developing new purification and defect analysis for silicon-based raw materials, as well as researching new and more efficient techniques to recycle silicon materials. Through these projects, we expect to enhance our integrated business solutions by reducing material costs and gaining higher conversion rates for our solar energy products.
